Relaunch of Marriott.com
Description
In 2009, Marriott International decided to radically redesign and relaunch it’s flagship website, Marriott.com. Although the new design was innovative and a departure from traditional hotel web site design, backwards compatibility with older web technologies was a necessity.
As the Design Lead, I was hired to make sure that the launch of the new design went smoothly. By applying my knowledge of available technologies, I was able to retool the design to keep the intended spirit, while still allowing for full backwards compatibility. As a result, the site relaunched on time, and the company saw an immediate increase of customer engagements.
His [Jason’s] mastery of the backend & his focus on a good user experience will serve his consumers & partners well into the future.Heather Crombie, Marriott International

Balance & Grace Comic Book Reader
Description
In 2006, AOL RED (AOL’s teen focused website) partnered with Top Cow Comics to launch the first truly interactive online comic book. Up-to that point, all comic book readers had mimicked the print versions, presenting the entire page with animated “flips”.
As the creative director of AOL RED, I worked with partners to create an online comic book reader that focused on each panel in the sequential narrative, allowing the reader to focus on the story rather than on the page. We successfully launched the project at SanDiego ComicCon that year.
Jason is a strong creative visionary and extremely forward thinking in the execution of his ideas. He is one of those rare digital media professionals that posess a complete command and consummate understanding of the technology that supports and enhances his thoughts and ideas.Josh Mutchnick, AOL RED

Project
Ongoing iterations of global party registration website
Description
From 2005–2015, I worked as the Internet Strategist for Yuri’s Night, a non-profit organization dedicated to spreading the ideas of human space exploration by celebrating the anniversary of the first human space flight of Yuri Gagarin on 12 April 1961. In that time I have developed several innovative site designs, and helped to grow the event from a few dozen parties to several hundred, celebrated on all seven continents, the International space station, and even by the rovers on Mars.
Jason has been an important asset to the Yuri’s Night team as his brilliant website work has kept our organization on the cutting edge of design.Ryan L. Kobrick, PhD, Yuri’s Night
